Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN) was founded 36 years ago with a singular mission: preventing the abuse and neglect of children by providing support to families in crises. The families BACN serves come to us for a variety of reasons, but share one commonality: a profound desire to ensure the safety of their children during a period of personal transition.
Since its founding in 1981, BACN has admitted over 27,000 children, and remains the only crisis nursery in the Bay Area to provide respite and emergency childcare 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
As a nonprofit organization, BACN counts on the generous support of its donors, volunteers, and community supporters, to continue providing its services to families and their children: without cost, condition, or judgement.
